Our Story

Old Lore Whiskey Company was founded on a belief that the most remarkable whiskey carries more than flavor — it carries history, character, and story.

Sam — co-founder of Old Lore Whiskey Company — built his foundation in the whiskey world through Sam’s Whiskey Room, a single barrel selection and release group dedicated to discovering and sharing exceptional barrels. Through years of barrel evaluations and collaborations with distilleries and producers, Sam has helped bring numerous single barrel selections to market, including releases drawn from some of the world’s rarest whiskey stocks and most respected producers.

This experience refined a deep understanding of what makes a truly special barrel — not simply great whiskey, but whiskey with individuality, depth, and presence.

Old Lore Whiskey Company was created to take that pursuit even further: to seek out remarkable barrels and present them as thoughtfully curated releases that showcase the unique story each cask holds.

Sam co-founded Old Lore alongside his longtime friend Albert, who developed his own voice within the whiskey community as an influencer on Instagram and through the OnlyBourbonFans podcast. Through reviews, interviews, and conversations with industry figures and enthusiasts alike, Albert cultivated a passion for the culture, craftsmanship, and personalities that define the modern whiskey world.

Together, Sam and Albert bring their combined experience, relationships, and shared passion to every Old Lore release — selecting barrels not simply for quality, but for the character and story they represent.
